2901.jpg (113713 bytes) This was the ACR's only steel boxcar for years. It is ex "GTW 470677, a 40 ton all steel box damaged on the ACR and rebuilt by Steelton Shops on May 31, 1962" according to a note I have from Don Orr of Car Service dated March 3, 1982. Shown here at Steelton Aug. 7, 1978.
2915.jpg (124654 bytes) Later on the ACR bought about 20 40 ft steel boxcars from the ONR for work train and company service. Here is the 2915 at Hawk Jct. on June 15, 1994.

It had accommodations for several men who would live in the car while out along the line changing wheel sets, drawbars or whatever on bad order cars set off along the line. Here it is at Steelton fresh out of the paint shop on Oct. 29, 1980.
